As an employer in Romania, you have the responsibility to comply with labor laws and ensure a safe and fair working environment for your employees. Here are the main obligations and aspects you need to consider:
1. Conclusion of the individual employment contract
- Written form: The individual employment contract must be concluded in writing, in Romanian, before the employee starts working.
- Essential clauses: The contract must include elements such as:

- Contract duration (fixed or indefinite);
- Working conditions and salary;
- Work schedule.
- General Register of Employee Records: Each contract must be registered in REGES to be transmitted to the Territorial Labor Inspectorate.
2. Occupational health and safety (OHS)

- Employee training: Ensure that all employees receive adequate OHS training, according to Law no. 319/2006.

3. Professional training
- Training plan: Develop a professional training plan for employees, adapted to the needs of the company and its employees.
- Access to courses: Offer employees the opportunity to participate in courses and training sessions for skills development.
4. Respect for employee rights
- Minimum wage: Ensure payment of a salary at least at the level of the gross minimum wage per country.
- Leaves: Provide vacation and medical leave in accordance with the legislation in force.
- Work schedule: Respect the maximum working time and grant breaks and days off in accordance with the law.
5. Consultation and information of employees
- Information: Communicate to employees their rights and obligations, as well as internal regulations.
- Consultation: Involve employees or their representatives in decisions that directly affect them.
6. Other legal obligations
- Internal regulations: Develop and bring to the attention of employees the company's internal regulations.
- Data protection: Ensure that the processing of employees' personal data complies with the legislation in force.
