The Labor Inspectorate

The Labor Inspectorate plays an essential role in protecting the rights and safety of employees and employers.

In this sense, the general register of employees must be accessible online for employees/former employees, regarding the data concerning them and must allow:

• Visualization,

• Downloading,

• Printing this data,

• as well as online generation and downloading of an extract from the register.

Seniority in work and/or specialty can also be proven with this extract, under the conditions established by a Government decision.

In this regard, it was published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, Government Decision no. 295/27 March 2025 regarding the general register of employees - REGES-ONLINE, which establishes:

• the conditions for compiling and accessing the register,

• the completion and transmission therein of the elements of the individual employment contract, regarding:

  • Conclusion,

  • Modification,

  • Suspension and

  • Termination thereof,

by:

• natural or legal persons of private law;

• public institutions/authorities/other legal entities that employ personnel based on an individual employment contract;

• diplomatic missions, consular offices of other states in Romania,

• representations of international organizations accredited in Romania,

• cultural institutes and

• commercial and economic representations of other states in Romania,

for locally employed personnel who have Romanian citizenship or for foreigners with the right to work in Romania.
